Well! Well!
I am the only son of English and Greek immigrants.
What a mixture you may say! Yes! Indeed I am. I have the philosophy
of the Greeks and the stubbornness of the English.
My parents
came from the other side of the world and created me in god’s
haven of plenty. With not a very happy childhood of abuse and poverty
my mother gave me the basics of life to grow with, not like so many
kids today.
My mother taught me the finer things about the
written word and that knowledge is power. Not like one of my school
teachers who said I had the mind of a St Kilda con man!
As
the passage of life has passed, it has been good to me. I have many
options, much love, many opportunities, and have been surrounded in
this great country of Australia.
I lived in inner Melbourne,
spent my formative life in Gippsland at a boarding school and then
spent my teens in a trades industry.
I have had many jobs,
and professions. Directors of companies, bake house fitter, community
worker in PNG, mechanic and self employed. Self employed you may say,
yes! Even in military maintenance of tanks, APC’s, and armory.
My greatest achievement is the fact that I will leave this world
and apart from my children having made a difference to so many lives.
From the people who I have worked with, loved, mentored, trained,
and those I have given so much to.
In the end it will be said “thyne will be done” Gerald
